Dason's 8th Birthday

Yes, Dason has finally reached 8 years old. We celebrated his birthday day with the Badgers. McKenna Badger made the very cute football cake. Two weeks after his b-day, he got to have friends from school and the ward come over for a Fear Factor Birthday Party. He had a relay race where they had to carry a dog biscuit in their mouth and eat marshmallows. Then they played a game called "Iron Toes" where the boys were timed on how many marbles they could get out of a bucket filled with ice water in one minute. Next they tried to catch fish with their bare hands. They then moved onto finding a worm (fake but Mom really tried to convince Dason to let her do real ones) in whip cream and eating it. Next came the juice taste test. There were 6 unknown juices- most dyed to confuse them- and they had to try to figure out what they were. There was lemon juice, ketchup, syrup, honey, peanut butter, & hot dogs (this one looked like pink lemonade but it was nasty!) Then we popped balloons with #'s in them to find out how many "gross things (ketchup, mustard, mayonaise, soy sauce)" they had to put in their milkshakes. It was really vanilla pudding dyed to look like those things. Then they had to drink the milkshakes. Last, there was a race to assemble their marshmallow shooters & shoot a target. Then they had a marshmallow war. Braden and Brooklyn joined in on the competition. I think our dog Lacie won because she got to eat all the marshmallows scattered around the yard at the end. As a party prize, each of the boys got to take home their goldfish, their marshmallow shooters and extra marshmallows. For presents, Dason got a trip to Makuto's Island, a Star Wars Lego set, a Knex roller coaster, a disk shooter, a football, a Diamondbacks baseball hat, a rocket launcher, pokemon cards and ten dollars.
